Formula 1 racing on the 4.657 km Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Practice, qualifying and 66 laps run 12-14 June 2026 with Barcelona 30 minutes away.
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya covers 4.657 km with long straights and technical corners 30 minutes north of the city. First held in 1991 at this venue, the track delivers top speeds above 320 km per hour on the main straight. The 2026 edition takes place 12-14 June with practice on Friday, qualifying on Saturday, and the 66-lap race on Sunday.
Friday opens with free practice sessions at 13:30 and 17:00 as teams gather data on tyre wear in the June heat. Saturday adds final practice before qualifying at 16:00 sets the grid order. Sunday delivers the race at 15:00 across 66 laps where strategy and pit stops shape the outcome. Support races run earlier each day and set the tone for the main event.
Main straight, key corners, general admission hills
Grandstand seats deliver fixed views and sell out first. The main grandstand shows the start-finish straight and pit activity while Turn 1 captures heavy braking and overtaking chances. General admission grants access to grassy banks that let fans shift positions. Book months ahead because supply disappears early. Walk the circuit route on Thursday before barriers rise to assess sight lines in person.
Montmeló, Granollers, Barcelona Eixample
Reserve six months or more in advance. Rooms fill by Thursday so consider options in Granollers or Barcelona for lower rates with straightforward transfers.
Fly into Barcelona El Prat (BCN). Take the train in 35 minutes or drive the highway in 30 minutes. Walk sections of the circuit before barriers rise on Thursday. Visit Sagrada Familia early, walk La Rambla to the harbour, and eat jamon and local tomatoes at La Boqueria stalls. Explore the old town or head north to the circuit zone and watch teams arrive.
Search stays near BarcelonaEat breakfast early at the hotel then board the 7:00 train from Barcelona Sants to Montmeló station and take the circuit shuttle. Pass through gates by 8:00 and reach your seat before support races begin at 10:00. Carry water, earplugs and sun cream as temperatures climb. Note the shift in atmosphere as engines fire and the grandstands fill ahead of the 15:00 start.
The podium ceremony takes place at the circuit with drivers spraying champagne. Fans then head back to Barcelona for evening celebrations. Return to restaurants in Eixample, bars near Plaça Reial or hotel rooftops. The city stays open late with crowds filling streets from the harbour to the old town.

The 2026 Spanish Grand Prix runs on the same 4.657 km layout with practice 12 June, qualifying 13 June, and the 66-lap race 14 June. Resurfaced track sections and added safety kerbs from winter 2025 improve grip and run-off. Support series include FIA Formula 2 and Formula 3 on all three days. Demand for grandstand seats and hotels remains high so confirm bookings before December 2025. Track temperatures rise in the June slot so prepare for heat across the weekend.
